Pendle & Weavers: Phase 4
Following the purchase of Stanley Grange in 2015, the Stanley Grange Community Association (SGCA) created a Refurbishment, Modernisation and Renewal Program to address the lack of investment, in the site that had occurred over the previous decade.
Each phase is only started when enough funds have been raised and the total projectedinvestment in this programme amounts to £2.3m. SGCA continuesto fundraise to enable each phase of the project to be completed. To learn more about supporting this phase please contact David Wilks–Trustee and Head of Fundraising Committee.
Phase 4 involves the renovation of Pendle and Weavers cottages, as currently both homeslack the facilities, we expect modern accommodation to have. The properties in their current state would fail to meet the standards of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System requirements for landlords. The modernisation plans will bring the properties up to these standards. The CQC is happy, as there are no life-threatening failures and they recognise the high care standards operating here, to give ustime to get the modernisations completed.
Renovations will see us increase the bedroom sizes and install en-suite bath and shower room facilities. We will also be updating the windows and escape/safety doors, as well as upgrading the heating and electrical systems.
Replicating the success of our renovation in Stables this project will see us create a small kitchen facility in each individual dwelling space, to retain the communal dining and kitchen environment enjoyed by residents.
Stanley Grange Community Association would like to thank The Wolfson Foundation, The Garfield Weston Foundation, The Gosling Foundation,The Sobell Trust, The Bernard Sunley Trust and The W Orbell Charitable Trust for supporting this project to date.
With the remaining funds still to be raised, to learn more about how you can donate to this project please contact our Operations and Project Coordinator on info@stanleygrange.org.uk or make a donation below.
