Following the purchase of Stanley Grange in 2015, the SGCA created a Refurbishment, Modernisation and Renewal Programme to address the lack of investment, in the site that had occurred over the previous decade.
Each phase is started when enough funds have been raised and the total projected investment in this programme amounts to £2.3m. Phase 2 was completed in July 2016.
Phase 2 saw the upgrade of Fountains Cottage from a delipidated house into six airy and modern one-and two-bedroom flats for supported and independent living giving us the opportunities to meet a wider range of care needs on site.
Once again led by Eric Wright Group-Special Projects Team Phase 2 had some issues with the team uncovering structural problems and uneven floors but having overcome these challenges residents were delighted to move back into their new accommodation.
The Stanley Grange Community Association would like to thank the Collinge Family who led the Design for Life Fundraising campaign, The Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust and The Sylvia Waddilove Trust who made this phase possible.
